What you will do

• Process release-of-information requests by retrieving, scanning, and transmitting patient medical records.
• Date-stamp requests, highlight relevant information, and validate authorizations.
• Perform quality checks for accuracy, confidentiality, proper release handling, and invoicing.
• Respond to customer requests and inquiries by phone, mail, fax, or other channels as needed.
• Maintain equipment, organized records, and a clean professional work area.
• Follow client policies, HIPAA, state and federal regulations, and confidentiality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of medical-records department or similar experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Typing speed of 50 words per minute.
• Ability to use fax, copier, and scanning equipment and learn new processes quickly.
• Strong organization, multitasking, customer service, self-motivation, and teamwork skills.
