Records Retrieval Specialist

Location: Remote with field-based responsibility; must reside in South Central Pennsylvania within Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, or York County. Travel up to 100% within the assigned territory is required, with occasional overnight travel in the Northeast region and possible visits to hirify.global offices for training or meetings.

Salary: $40,000–$52,300 per year

What you will do

• Retrieve medical records from provider offices and research records to verify member information.
• Conduct quality assurance audits of medical records and ICD-9/10 diagnosis codes submitted to CMS and other government agencies.
• Obtain provider signatures and upload records to company databases using a laptop, portable scanner, and external storage device.
• Schedule and conduct provider office appointments and visits while meeting retrieval deadlines.
• Access records through multiple EMR systems in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
• Support regional phone calls and administrative projects.

Requirements

• Must reside in one of the specified South Central Pennsylvania counties and be available to travel up to 100% within the assigned territory.
• Reliable car transportation, a valid state driver's license, and personal vehicle liability insurance with minimum limits of 100/300/100 are required.
• At least one year of experience working with various electronic medical records systems.
• At least one year of experience in a hospital or provider setting.
• Ability to travel overnight occasionally within the Northeast region.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST, with occasional schedule flexibility.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Managed care experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and ICD-10 codes.
• Medical record retrieval experience.
