hirify.global develops generalist intelligent humanoid robots across the full robotics stack, including hardware, robot systems, infrastructure, foundation world models, and manufacturing.

What you will do

  • Develop safety-related features for a humanoid robot.
  • Derive requirements for stopping, collision avoidance, collision sensing, motor control, and diagnostics through analysis and experimentation.
  • Define fail-safe, fail-degraded, and fail-operational strategies and architectures.
  • Drive safety requirements from inception and approval through implementation and verification.
  • Design and use custom instrumentation and verification equipment for requirements validation and diagnostics development.
  • Support system integration and application engineering while collaborating with mechanical, electrical, software, and applications teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience developing mass-produced electromechanical products.
  • B.S. in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with data acquisition, instrumentation, data conversion, analysis using Python or statistical tools, and data presentation.
  • Proven systems safety engineering experience with HARA, DFMEA, FTA, STPA, and safety case development for complex robotic electromechanical systems.
  • Experience taking complex safety-critical products from concept through mass production and safety certification.
  • Experience deriving safety requirements, developing and executing fault-injection test cases, analyzing results, and presenting conclusions to cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

  • Functional Safety certification from TÜV Rheinland or a similar organization, including IEC 61508 or Machinery standards.
  • Experience with AI safety for Physical AI and autonomy sensors such as vision, ToF, and laser.
  • Understanding of motor control, safety-critical embedded electronics, firmware, and software.
  • Experience with electric and pneumatic actuators or robotic solutions for industrial manufacturing.
  • Robotics experience across multiple industries and an M.S. in Engineering.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on generalist intelligent robots designed for complex real-world environments and long-tail edge cases.
  • Contribute to an end-to-end robotics stack spanning hardware, software, AI models, infrastructure, and manufacturing.
  • Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, systems integration, and applications engineering disciplines.
  • Compensation includes equity.
