Staff Engineer - Software - DSP

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of HAL interfaces for HiFi5 DSP peripherals, including timers, PDM, I2S, and analog microphone interfaces.
• Evaluate and port RTOS or lightweight schedulers to hirify.global SDKs.
• Design boot state machines and IPC/RPC messaging protocols.
• Develop DSP environment examples, software tests, and test cases.
• Optimize customer workloads and support customer use of the DSP environment.
• Contribute to FPGA pre-silicon verification, post-silicon bring-up, performance optimization, debugging, and support for DV, validation, field engineering, and customer teams.

Requirements

• MS in ECE or Computer Science with 6+ years of experience, or BS in ECE/Computer Science with 8+ years of experience, including at least 3 years focused on DSP software environments or related subsystems.
• Experience developing embedded MCU code in C and assembly language on ARM Cortex-M processors.
• Knowledge of digital signal processing fundamentals, including sampling, time/frequency-domain transformation, FIR, IIR, FFT/IFFT, and SNR.
• Experience with scripting languages, source control systems such as Git, software testing, and test automation principles.
• Hands-on experience debugging embedded systems with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, audio analyzers, or similar lab equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cadence HiFi5 DSP, the Xtensa toolchain, and MIPS profiling tools.
• Experience with hardware mailboxes, shared-memory IPC, and multicore embedded processing systems.
• Experience with DSP audio algorithms such as AEC, noise reduction, EQ, and AGC.
• Experience optimizing DSP algorithms for latency and power, and familiarity with Python.
• Experience with ARM, Keil, IAR, Eclipse, Ozone, Jira, or Confluence.
