Principal Java Consultant (Java)

What you will do

• Lead complex, project-based software engineering engagements for financial services clients.
• Design and build distributed server-side systems using Java and the JVM ecosystem.
• Work with actor-based concurrency, reactive programming, distributed in-memory data grids, and advanced messaging.
• Develop commercial-grade RESTful web services and real-time software architectures.
• Collaborate with self-organizing Agile teams, share knowledge, and lead learning sessions.
• Adapt to evolving technologies and contribute across the development stack when needed.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and building complex commercial-grade server-side Java applications, ideally with Java 8+.
• 5+ years of experience leading Agile teams and taking responsibility for team outcomes.
• Strong understanding of multithreading, real-time architectures, RESTful web services, and the Java or Scala ecosystem.
• Experience with test-driven development, unit and end-to-end testing, Agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban, and CI/CD environments.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with and strong interest in global financial markets and financial products.
