Developer Experience Lead (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Kansas City, MO; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Sunnyvale, CA, with remote work available in the United States.

Salary: $185,000–$220,000 in Zone 1; $163,000–$190,000 in Zone 2; $158,880–$182,000 in Zone 3, annually.

What you will do

• Own the strategy, roadmap, and day-to-day management of developer documentation.
• Create API references, implementation guides, tutorials, quickstarts, diagrams, sample applications, and migration guides.
• Own changelogs, upcoming-change pages, feature-rollout notices, deprecation timelines, and breaking-change communications.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure documentation and partner communications ship alongside product releases.
• Translate API design and complex technical concepts into clear developer education and onboarding content.
• Build scalable documentation standards, editorial processes, and operating workflows.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in developer experience, developer education, technical writing, developer-facing product marketing, or a related discipline.
• Exceptional written communication with a strong focus on clarity, usability, and precise communication about production-impacting changes.
• Ability to read API specifications and reason about object models.
• Experience working with engineering teams and technical, API-first products.
• Experience with Mintlify, ReadMe, GitBook, or Docusaurus, plus docs-as-code workflows and GitHub.
• Comfort using AI tools and independently owning a documentation or communication surface end to end.

• Experience measuring documentation quality through analytics.
• Experience owning developer or partner communications for platform changes.
• Experience designing developer onboarding experiences or reference architectures.
• Experience writing SDK documentation or working on API-first platforms.
• Experience in fintech, payments, or another regulated, high-trust domain.
