Cyber Engineer II (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid in Herndon, Virginia; on-site with the team 2–3 days per week and candidates should live within approximately 50 miles of the office. Some travel may be required.

Salary: $84,900–$97,900–$114,100 USD annual base salary, depending on experience, location, and business needs.

What you will do

• Develop and test new capabilities for cross-domain cybersecurity products.
• Build and support software development tools, test infrastructure, and operational capabilities.
• Use Linux, scripting, and networking expertise to enable secure data transfer and resolve customer requirements.
• Design and implement cross-domain solutions with failover, cooperative processing, load balancing, and enterprise interoperability.
• Develop data inspection policies using proprietary and open-source programming languages.
• Provide customer training, troubleshooting, design support, and on-site or remote technical assistance.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain work authorizations required under U.S. ITAR or EAR regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or an equivalent field.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience in Linux environments.
• Familiarity with Java, Python, Go, C, C++, or C# and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Fedora, or Ubuntu.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and protocols including HTTP, SSH, IPsec, and TLS/SSL.
• Understanding of public/private keys and certificates, plus experience with Git.

Nice to have

• Experience with cross-domain security design and architecture.
• Agile or Scrum development experience.
• Experience deploying cloud technologies with Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS.
• Experience with distributed, parallel, or clustered processing environments.
• Experience with virtual desktop technologies such as RDP, Citrix Receiver, or VMware Horizon View.
