Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, United States, or South Burlington, Vermont, United States. Work is performed in a collaborative office environment, with occasional travel for audits, supplier visits, manufacturing observations, or testing.
Compensation: $85,000–$125,000 USD per year, plus restricted stock units and performance stock units for full-time employees.

What you will do
- Execute software quality assurance activities, lifecycle audits, process improvements, and compliance verification across certification and production programs.
- Manage software quality records in accordance with DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A/B, AS9115A, and AS9125.
- Audit software development lifecycle processes, data, and traceability to identify gaps and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct root cause and corrective action investigations for nonconformities and recommend systemic improvements.
- Report quality progress, risks, and audit findings to leadership, stakeholders, and certification authorities.
- Participate in design reviews, requirements traceability, configuration management, and resolution of software defects and compliance issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in software, mechanical, electrical, aerospace engineering, or quality assurance/management.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the aerospace systems development lifecycle with exposure to certification processes.
- Working knowledge of DO-178C and supplements, DO-254, ARP4754A, AS9115, and/or AS9125.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and certification requirements including Part 33, Part 27, Part 25, Part 23, eVTOL, or eCTOL programs.
- Proficiency with Polarion and JIRA for requirements traceability and defect management.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to support multiple concurrent programs.
Nice to have
- Experience with Software Part and Installation Conformity Inspections under FAA Order 8110.49A.
- Experience conducting internal software lifecycle and quality system audits.
- Experience with root cause and corrective action investigations and process improvement initiatives.
- Experience with eVTOL, eCTOL, electric propulsion, or other advanced aerospace programs.
- Experience working with Designated Engineering Representatives, certification authorities, airborne, and non-airborne software processes.
