Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop software quality assurance plans, processes, and procedures for product design, qualification, testing, and acceptance.
• Maintain the Quality Management System and support compliance with AS 9100 and CMMI standards.
• Manage nonconformance investigations, corrective and preventive actions, issue resolution, and trend tracking.
• Support internal audits, product and process assessments, findings, corrective action requests, and continuous improvement.
• Prepare Safety and Mission Assurance reports, status updates, and presentations for program leadership.
• Collaborate with software design, systems, software safety, and subsystem engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• 5–7+ years of software quality assurance experience in human spaceflight.
• Experience maintaining a CMMI level rating in software development.
• Knowledge of aerospace quality management systems and quality processes.
• Ability to plan analyses and report results for quality requirements, assessments, qualification, testing, audits, trends, and product improvement.
• Experience tracking tasks, activities, and milestones in JIRA and Confluence; access to export-controlled technical data may require additional U.S. export control screening under NASA, ITAR, or EAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience performing AS 9100 audits and assessments.
