Senior Quality Inspector - NDT (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop and refine NDT processes, acceptance criteria, inspection techniques, and standard operating procedures with engineering and production teams.
• Lead daily NDT operations and coordinate inspection activities.
• Perform and evaluate advanced penetrant (PT) inspections on components and assemblies.
• Develop inspection techniques for complex geometries and advanced materials, including aerospace superalloys.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to NDT Level I and II technicians.
• Maintain inspection documentation, support process qualification and certification, and improve quality-system compliance.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, mechanical fitting, or NDT testing; the role description also calls for highly experienced NDT professionals.
• Extensive aerospace, aviation, or related-industry experience performing NDT inspections.
• Experience inspecting high-strength aluminum alloys, precipitation-hardened steels, Inconel, Monel, titanium, and Maraging steel.
• Strong knowledge of AS, AMS, AWS, NAS, ASME, and ASTM NDT standards and codes.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Required certifications as NDT Level I and Level II in penetrant testing (PT) under ASNT, NAS 410, or equivalent standards.
• For U.S. office roles, candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain the required export-control authorizations.
• Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours, work at heights and in tight spaces, perform repetitive movements, and lift, carry, push, or pull equipment up to 25 lbs.

Nice to have

• Experience improving NDT efficiency, productivity, and quality assurance.
• AWS or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• Familiarity with advanced inspection techniques for complex geometries and challenging materials.
