Senior Associate, Global Middle Office - Financial Operations (Fintech)

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 annual base salary, plus variable year-end compensation and benefits.

D. E. Shaw operates a global Middle Office function supporting the lifecycle of the firm’s trading strategies.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary contact for trading desk inquiries and coordinate post-trade operations across multiple asset classes and strategies.
• Partner with trading desks, technology, and operations to improve processes, controls, data quality, and risk mitigation.
• Develop workflows, dashboards, and tools to monitor trading activity and improve operational efficiency.
• Contribute to projects expanding Middle Office capabilities for new investment strategies and asset classes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and five to ten years of relevant experience in financial operations or trade support.
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle operations, including trade capture, P&L, security master, and settlement processes.
• Experience managing front-office inquiries and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve operational issues.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills, with a willingness to take ownership.
• Ability to design or contribute to dashboards and analytics for operational insights.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, IHS Markit, Capital IQ, and middle- or back-office tools.
