TL;DR
Director, Government Relations (Cybersecurity): Driving federal legislative and regulatory advocacy for cybersecurity and mission-technology programs with an accent on congressional, Pentagon, intelligence-community, and civilian-agency engagement. Focus on developing policy strategies, briefing senior decision makers, coordinating high-impact government engagements, and translating national-security requirements into business and product priorities.
Location: Hybrid in Herndon, Virginia, with on-site work 2–3 days per week; candidates should live within approximately 50 miles of the office. Regular travel to Washington, DC, federal agencies, and national-security events is required.
Salary: $220,600–$293,400 USD base salary, plus bonus plans and benefits.

What you will do
- Drive federal government relations and advocacy across Congress, the Department of War, the Intelligence Community, and civilian agencies.
- Build relationships with policymakers, Pentagon stakeholders, national-security influencers, think tanks, industry groups, and technology leaders.
- Develop legislative strategies aligned with business priorities and analyze legislation, appropriations, budget cycles, committee activity, and mission-technology trends.
- Coordinate Hill days, Pentagon briefings, classified sessions, technology demonstrations, and policy forums.
- Prepare briefing materials, testimonies, executive briefs, congressional summaries, talking points, and advocacy content.
- Partner with Legal, Product, Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and Capture teams while managing external consultants and lobbying partners.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in government relations, defense policy, or national-security advocacy.
- Strong familiarity with defense, homeland security, intelligence, and appropriations committees.
- Experience navigating Department of War structures, acquisition processes, and senior-level Pentagon engagement.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, insider risk, mission data, and national-security technologies.
- Exceptional communication skills, including briefing senior officials.
- Applicants must have the right to work in the United States; clearance eligibility is strongly preferred.
