TL;DR
Tooling and Systems Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace Manufacturing): Creating tooling drawings, shop work instructions, and manufacturing documentation for reusable hypersonic vehicles with an accent on systems integration, producibility, and aerospace standards. Location: On-site in Mojave, California, United States; travel estimated at less than 5%.

Base salary: $98,100–$200,000 per year depending on level, education, location, and experience.

hirify.global develops reusable air-launched Talon testbeds and hypersonic flight-testing platforms to generate data for technology validation and national security applications.

What you will do

  • Create tooling drawings, tool work instructions, production documentation, and shop aids for systems, mechanical structures, and ground support equipment.
  • Define manufacturing processes step by step and develop standardized practices for production, testing, tooling, and system installation.
  • Act as an engineering liaison on the shop floor, troubleshooting documentation issues and providing real-time technical support to manufacturing technicians.
  • Support mechanical and ground-test integration, hypersonic vehicle integrated testing, system design, and acceptance test procedures.
  • Integrate 3D CAD models into 2D engineering environments, redline released documentation, and support component sourcing and shop setup activities.
  • Evaluate technical data and engineering requirements to assess producibility, fabrication time, cost, and schedule.

Requirements

  • Experience with vehicle systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrotechnical systems, flight controls, aircraft, or launch vehicle integration.
  • Experience creating aerospace production drawings, work orders, shop work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience with PDM systems, engineering change control, revision control, and release processes.
  • Experience integrating aircraft or launch vehicle electrical power systems and working hands-on with aircraft structures and system installation.
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, AC/DC power supplies, signal generators, 3D CAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 2–5 years for Level II, 5–10 years for Senior Level, or 10–20 years for Staff Level. Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance is required.

Nice to have

  • 3D CAD modeling experience with NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks.
  • Familiarity with configuration management systems, particularly Jira.
