Developer Relations Engineer (Dapr/AI)

Location: Remote, but must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area; travel may be required for events and meetups.

What you will do

• Grow contributor engagement and adoption across the Dapr open-source community, GitHub, Discord, and other channels.
• Moderate and nurture the Dapr community by answering technical questions, recognizing contributors, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
• Create blog posts, tutorials, architectural guides, sample applications, webinars, workshops, live demos, and video content.
• Own the Dapr and hirify.global YouTube presence, including scripting, recording, editing, and publishing.
• Coordinate and host meetups, Dapr Days, conference talks, and other community events.
• Build demos, starters, and reference architectures for Dapr in production and AI agent use cases, while sharing community feedback with Engineering and Product.

Requirements

• Prior experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, or community management.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on knowledge of distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, or microservices.
• Strong familiarity with Dapr or comparable workflow and distributed application projects.
• A track record of blogs, videos, talks, or open-source contributions that gained traction.
• Experience moderating Discord or Slack communities, growing open-source projects, or organizing meetups.
• Based in the San Francisco Bay Area; able to explain complex topics and build public demos using Python, Go, TypeScript, or .NET.

Nice to have

• Conference speaking experience, including events such as KubeCon or Microsoft Build.
• Experience with AI agents, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or workflow orchestration.
• Existing relationships in cloud-native or AI developer communities.
