Developer Experience Engineer (DevOps)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States. Relocation assistance is provided if applicable. Applicants must meet U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements.

Base salary: $170,000–$195,000 per year, plus equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Build and own local development tooling with k3s, k3d, and Docker Compose.
• Define reusable CI/CD workflows, infrastructure-as-code modules, repository templates, and service scaffolding.
• Improve CI duration, new-hire time to first pull request, and automated check reliability.
• Build automated security and compliance pipelines, including scanning across repositories.
• Design virtualized test environments and hardware-in-the-loop test setups.
• Promote high-quality documentation practices across the engineering organization.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, platform, or developer tooling roles.
• Experience building internal tooling or developer platforms with measurable impact.
• Strong GitHub Actions or similar CI platform experience, including reusable workflows, composite actions, caching, OIDC authentication, and action version hygiene.
• Production experience with Terraform or OpenTofu, Kubernetes, Docker, and either Golang or Python.
• Experience with secret scanning, dependency and container vulnerability scanning, static analysis, and application or container image hardening.
• Must satisfy U.S. Government export-control requirements through U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Multi-account AWS experience, including GovCloud or other regulated environments.
• Greenfield developer portal experience with Backstage or a similar platform.
• Experience with ephemeral or preview environments at scale.
• Container build pipelines for tooling images.
• Experience building or integrating AI agents and agent tooling, including the Model Context Protocol.
