DevOps Engineer (Defense Technology)

Location: Huntington Beach, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $125,000–$160,000 for DevOps Engineer or $165,000–$220,000 for Senior DevOps Engineer per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build and maintain GitHub CI/CD pipelines to improve developer velocity and reduce deployment risk.
• Architect and manage AWS cloud infrastructure for high availability, scalability, and security.
• Improve observability through logging, metrics, alerting, and on-call response.
• Support test infrastructure, simulation environments, and production deployments in collaboration with software and hardware teams.
• Lead infrastructure security, cost optimization, incident response, and root-cause analysis practices.
• Shape DevOps processes, tooling, automation, and team culture as the organization scales.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or SRE.
• Proficiency with AWS and experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar tools.
• Strong scripting skills in Python or Bash.
• Experience with Docker and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes or ECS.
• Familiarity with observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog, plus strong debugging and incident management skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to access technology subject to U.S. export controls without sponsorship for an export license.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting production systems in defense, robotics, or hardware-adjacent environments.
• Knowledge of air-gapped or secure deployment environments and compliance standards such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-171, or CMMC.
• Exposure to embedded systems build pipelines, cross-compilation toolchains, or infrastructure as code with Terraform or CloudFormation.
