Lead Python Developer (Fintech)

Location: New York, United States; Workplace: On-site

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year for mid to senior levels, plus a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Develop scalable Python microservices for streaming, messaging, and REST-based data processing.
• Design and implement solutions for market and credit counterparty risk platforms.
• Architect cloud-native applications on AWS using Consul, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Spark.
• Create database models for SQL, MongoDB, and key-value stores.
• Build testing frameworks with Behave and PyTest, and implement asynchronous, multithreaded, and multiprocess operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment and lead messaging, streaming, and REST API integration.

Requirements

• 8+ years of commercial software development experience with complex applications.
• Strong Python expertise, including advanced language features, asynchronous operations, and object-oriented and functional programming.
• Professional experience in AWS cloud-native application development is mandatory.
• In-depth knowledge of microservices architecture, data modeling, messaging, streaming, and REST APIs.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools including Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Spark, and Consul.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or equivalent experience.
