Lead Python Engineer / Developer - Vice President (AWS)

Location: Stamford, Connecticut, United States; office work Monday–Thursday with remote work available on Friday.

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 annually, plus equity and an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Design and implement advanced web-scraping solutions using Python, Playwright, and AWS.
• Automate JavaScript-heavy and authentication-secured websites, including MFA, CAPTCHAs, and session or token-based login flows.
• Architect serverless scraping pipelines with Lambda, Step Functions, S3, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager.
• Build fault-tolerant systems for high-volume data extraction with retries and intelligent logging.
• Integrate workflows across multiple portals, APIs, and data sources.
• Contribute to architecture, tooling, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of Python development experience focused on automation and data extraction.
• Expertise with Playwright, Selenium, Scrapy, BeautifulSoup, and requests.
• Experience with MFA, CAPTCHA solving, session and cookie management, asynchronous programming, headless browsers, and JavaScript-rendered content.
• Proficiency with AWS Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager, plus APIs, JSON/XML, and data transformation.
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, infrastructure as code, orchestration tools, and testing frameworks.

Nice to have

• Background in data engineering or ETL workflows.
• Experience scraping secure financial, healthcare, legal, or other enterprise portals.
• Familiarity with Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions.
