Senior Manager, Process Engineering

Salary: $150,000–$225,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Manage and develop stable, capable vacuum-based unit processes for thin-film R&D and manufacturing.
• Create SOPs, workflows, work instructions, and training materials for process systems and staff.
• Manage a team of process engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with equipment engineering and integration engineering to drive continuous improvement and achieve technical milestones.
• Develop and use data management systems, including laboratory information management systems.
• Coordinate equipment vendors and direct vendor activity.

Requirements

• M.S. in materials science, electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent industrial experience.
• 10+ years of process engineering experience in thin-film R&D and manufacturing.
• 5+ years of management experience.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering, inorganic materials science, materials synthesis techniques, and designed experiments.
• Experience with materials analysis, including optical and electron microscopy, surface probe measurements, optical and NIR probes, X-ray measurements, and transport measurements.
• Ability to work on-site in Milpitas and comply with U.S. Export Control Laws. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work extended periods standing or sitting, and occasionally work nights, weekends, on-call shifts, or compressed work-week schedules.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in a relevant technical field.
• Experience in semiconductor, battery, solar cell, optoelectronics, or related industries.
• Experience working in a fabrication facility.
• Experience with JMP.
