Senior Wire Harness Engineer (Robotics)

Salary: $175,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own wire harness design from logical and electrical interconnect definition through 3D physical routing and release.
• Develop harness schematics defining connectors, pinouts, wire types, gauges, and routing intent using tools such as Zuken E3 or Siemens Capital.
• Model harness geometry in CATIA around moving structures, actuators, and sensors while accounting for vibration, flex, thermal, abrasion, and ingress loads.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Integration, and Manufacturing teams on signal and power requirements, shielding, connectors, packaging, assembly, and serviceability.
• Produce drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation; support prototypes, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and field issue resolution.
• Work with external vendors to produce and test complex cable assemblies and investigate cable-related signal integrity issues.

Requirements

• Mechanical or electrical engineering background, or a related field, with 5+ years of hands-on wire harness design experience in automotive, robotics, aerospace, or similarly demanding environments.
• Experience spanning logical and electrical interconnect design, schematics, pinouts, 3D routing, packaging, and structural survivability.
• Proficiency with a harness design tool such as Zuken E3 or Siemens Capital, and with CATIA for 3D harness modeling.
• Understanding of vibration, flex fatigue, thermal loads, abrasion, and ingress protection in harness design.
• Experience with connector and wire selection, EMI/EMC shielding, grounding and bonding, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and DFM/DFA.
• Strong ownership, collaboration, and communication skills across Electrical, Mechanical, Integration, and Manufacturing teams.
