Software Engineer 4 (AI)

Location: Remote United States; collaboration during EST or CST hours, with occasional domestic U.S. travel for in-person events and meetings.

Salary: USD $145,000–$155,000 annually, depending on qualifications.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and deliver scalable and reliable software across the full software development lifecycle.
• Drive technical decisions for complex distributed systems and backend initiatives from design through production deployment.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity, delivery speed, test coverage, automation, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Review and validate AI-generated outputs against architectural, compliance, and security standards.
• Own production systems and improve monitoring, observability, automation, CI/CD, reliability, and developer experience.
• Mentor software and QA engineers while collaborating with Product, Architecture, Operations, QA, and engineering leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience building and supporting distributed software applications.
• Strong experience with Microsoft .NET/C#, Java, cloud-native technologies, scalable APIs, distributed systems, and backend services.
• Experience with SQL Server, MongoDB, Redis, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React and/or Angular, RESTful APIs, and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with RabbitMQ, MSMQ, NServiceBus, CI/CD and DevOps tooling, and observability and monitoring platforms.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States during EST or CST hours.

Nice to have

• Experience leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools, including Claude Code.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical standards across teams.
