Location: On-site in Mojave, California, United States; travel estimated at less than 5%.

Base salary: $98,100–$128,700 for Level II or $117,000–$153,500 for Senior level.

What you will do

  • Create detailed work instructions, drawings, and tooling documentation for fabricating, installing, modifying, and testing propulsion systems.
  • Define propulsion manufacturing processes, aerospace standards, shop aids, and production-line improvements.
  • Act as an engineering liaison on the shop floor, supporting technicians, redlining released documentation, and troubleshooting documentation or manufacturing issues.
  • Troubleshoot propulsion mechanical systems and ground-test integration, and develop test plans, procedures, and ATP documentation.
  • Support propulsion component purchasing, shop setup, tooling, layout, and improvement activities.
  • Contribute to the design and integration of complex aerospace systems and hypersonic vehicle integrated testing.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of engineering experience for Level II or 5–10 years for Senior level, with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with aircraft or launch-vehicle propulsion systems, installation practices, and propulsion manufacturing.
  • Experience with solid rocket motors and hybrid rocket motors.
  • Experience creating aerospace production drawings, work orders, shop work instructions, and controlled engineering documentation using PDM and revision-control processes.
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrotechnical systems, flight controls, or launch-vehicle integration; experience with electrical power-system integration.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; an active clearance is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Siemens Capital or Mentor Graphics.
  • 3D CAD modeling experience with NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks.
  • LabVIEW and configuration-management experience, including Jira.
