Manager, City Operations (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Southern California, United States; Workplace: On-site

Base salary: $158,000–$189,000 per year, plus potential RSUs, stock appreciation rights, and sign-on bonus.

Zoox develops a fully autonomous robotaxi fleet and the supporting mobility-as-a-service ecosystem.

What you will do

• Lead and develop Zoox and contingent workforce teams operating the test and robotaxi fleets.
• Manage daily fleet operations, including vehicle deployment, maintenance tracking, and service coverage.
• Develop operational strategies, workflows, performance metrics, and KPIs to improve reliability, safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Partner with product and cross-functional stakeholders to integrate technology updates and service enhancements.
• Build relationships with local stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Plan and improve site operations while communicating performance trends and leading organizational change.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 8+ years of experience leading the business side of relevant large-scale operations.
• 3+ years managing large teams of full-time employees and contingent labor.
• Experience maintaining safety standards and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience with change management processes and managing large amounts of data.
• Ability to work on-site at facilities in the assigned market and travel when necessary.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in business administration, engineering, computer science, program management, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in an NPI environment and collaboration with PMO or engineering organizations.
• Experience with go-to-market initiatives, autonomous vehicles, transportation dispatch, or emergency response.
• PMP certification or equivalent.
