Government Affairs & Infrastructure Manager (Transportation)

Location: Not specified; the role leads state and federal affairs and includes up to 30% business travel.

What you will do

• Secure high-impact locations for bus stops and stations through government relations and private-sector negotiations.
• Build partnerships with government agencies, municipal councils, regulatory bodies, transit agencies, businesses, and property owners.
• Lead regional expansion strategy by aligning commercial objectives with government policies and identifying regulatory risks and opportunities.
• Manage site acquisition and ensure compliance with zoning, permitting, safety, and transportation requirements.
• Represent the company before transportation authorities and media, preparing materials for hearings and public consultations.
• Lead state and federal affairs and manage up to two direct reports as organizational needs evolve.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Communications, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or real estate development, including work with government entities.
• Experience securing agreements with government agencies or private stakeholders to support business growth.
• 2+ years of project management experience and knowledge of transportation regulations and public transit systems.
• 1+ years of people management experience or experience leading cross-functional teams through indirect reporting lines.
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, policy analysis, writing, communication, and presentation skills, plus familiarity with real estate transactions, land-use planning, and infrastructure development.

• Experience with RFPs and grant writing.
