Senior Payroll Advisor (Vancouver Hybrid)

Location: Vancouver, Canada; hybrid work arrangement

Salary: $81,600–$102,000 CAD annually, with potential eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Run end-to-end, on- and off-cycle payroll for US multi-state and Canadian multi-province employees.
• Manage earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, garnishments, statutory pay, year-end filings, and payroll-to-general-ledger reconciliations.
• Support payroll system implementation by configuring pay rules, testing parallel runs, validating data, and documenting integrations.
• Partner with project teams and vendors on data migration, HRIS, time, general-ledger interfaces, and cutover.
• Administer leave-to-pay impacts, coordinate with carriers and vendors, and produce payroll reports, reconciliations, and dashboards.
• Maintain payroll controls, support audits, and drive automation and process improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of payroll experience covering both US multi-state and Canadian multi-province payroll.
• In-house payroll experience, including internal payroll operations rather than work solely with an outsourced provider.
• Hands-on, full-lifecycle implementation or migration experience with a modern cloud payroll or HCM platform.
• Strong knowledge of US and Canadian payroll legislation, tax, and statutory requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with payroll or HRIS data and system integrations.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical skills, discretion, and ownership of accuracy under tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• CPP and/or PCP or PLP payroll certification.
• Experience in a global or matrixed organization, including EMEA or APJ payroll exposure.
• Leave-to-pay administration and vendor or carrier coordination.
• Familiarity with time and attendance systems and general-ledger or finance integrations.
