Analytics Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Build and maintain modular, tested, and documented dbt models across staging, intermediate, and mart layers.
• Build and monitor real-time and batch ingestion pipelines with Estuary, including CDC, schema evolution, backfills, and connector troubleshooting.
• Write performant SQL and design dimensional models in Amazon Redshift, including query, warehouse, and cost optimization.
• Use Python for transformations, orchestration hooks, dbt macros, and API integrations.
• Establish data quality tests, freshness checks, monitoring, alerting, and Git-based CI/CD for analytics code.
• Partner with analysts, data scientists, and business teams while maintaining documentation, semantic definitions, access controls, PII handling, and privacy practices.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a similar role.
• Strong production SQL skills, including window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on production experience with dbt and proficiency in Python for data workflows and automation.
• Experience with Amazon Redshift, including distribution and sort keys, WLM, and tuning.
• Experience with ELT or CDC ingestion tools such as Estuary, Fivetran, Airbyte, Debezium, or Kafka.
• Authorization to work in Nigeria without sponsorship, plus knowledge of dimensional modeling, Git, and CI/CD.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time or streaming and CDC architecture.
• Familiarity with Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or dbt Cloud.
• Experience with BI tools and semantic layers such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Knowledge of data observability tools, AWS services, and Docker.
