TL;DR
Composite Fabricator (Aerospace): Fabricating, assembling, and installing composite aircraft structures for reusable hypersonic test vehicles with an accent on wet lay-up, pre-preg lay-up, vacuum bagging, and controlled curing. Focus on integrating aircraft components, identifying defects, interpreting technical drawings, and performing precise fabrication work in demanding aerospace environments.

Location: Mojave, California, United States; onsite at Mojave Air & Spaceport. Travel to offsite locations may be required depending on aircraft dispatch location.

Salary: $32.00–$42.00/hour for Level I and $40.00–$52.40/hour for Level II. Base salary and leveling are determined case by case.

hirify.global develops reusable air-launched Talon testbeds and conducts operational testing in the hypersonic environment to support national security technology development.

What you will do

  • Fabricate, lay up, assemble, and install composite aircraft structures and components using wet lay-up and pre-preg processes.
  • Perform dry fitting, sub-assembly, and integration of aircraft components.
  • Prepare vacuum bags and cure composite parts in ovens while monitoring cure cycles.
  • Sand composite surfaces and use air saws, grinders, sanding blocks, drill motors, and other hand tools.
  • Inspect parts for defects, report issues to shop leadership, and follow technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and written work instructions.
  • Operate scissor lifts, forklifts, and other ground-handling equipment while maintaining safe and organized work areas.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of composite aircraft structure fabrication and assembly experience for Level I, or 5–10 years for Level II.
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • Strong understanding of FOD control, tool control, lean manufacturing, and workplace safety.
  • Ability to solve problems, adapt to changing priorities, work independently, and take initiative.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, handle items weighing up to 50 pounds, wear a respirator, work at heights of 15 feet or higher, and enter confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work overtime, staggered shifts, night shifts, and weekends.

Nice to have

  • Current A&P license.
  • Experience with BMI resins, titanium, and high-temperature epoxies.
  • Experience with laser metrology, precision tooling, high-tolerance assembly, and jigging.
  • Experience applying, repairing, or replacing thermal protection system materials.
