Security Platform Developer, Security Automation (Python, Splunk SOAR)

Location: Toronto, Ontario; hybrid work from home or the office based on business and client needs

Salary: CAD 65,000–105,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop Python playbooks in Splunk SOAR to triage alerts and automate manual security processes.
• Build YAML-based automated workflows in Ansible Automation Platform for account and certificate management.
• Triage and remediate errors across security automation environments.
• Refine automation requirements with stakeholders and implement new security controls and capabilities.
• Deploy, support, maintain, and operationalize enterprise security technologies and platforms.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call support and major incident management, while documenting playbooks, policies, RACI procedures, and knowledge base articles.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of Python development experience.
• 2–3 or more years of experience in the IT security industry.
• Information Technology university degree or college diploma, equivalent work experience, and/or five years of IT experience.
• Experience with Splunk SOAR or comparable SOAR tools, Ansible development, and YAML.
• Knowledge of SIEM platforms, endpoint and intrusion detection, certificate management, email security, cloud security, firewalls, WAFs, and intrusion prevention systems.
• Experience with Windows and Linux, cloud technologies, disaster recovery, enterprise technology deployments, and strong written and spoken communication skills.

Nice to have

• Professional IT security designation such as CISM, CISSP, CISA, GIAC, AWS, or CompTIA.
• Experience planning and developing security policies, standards, and procedures.
