Senior Purple Team Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote, based in Canada

Salary: CA$160,000–CA$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Own incident response readiness across hirify.global through tabletop exercises, playbook reviews, and cross-functional preparation.
• Lead incident response and DFIR during cybersecurity incidents, including incident command when required.
• Plan and execute adversarial simulations, offensive operations, rules of engagement, and post-engagement reporting.
• Build hirify.global’s deception engineering program, including honeypots, canary tokens, decoy users, breadcrumbs, fake credentials, and decoy infrastructure.
• Generate threat intelligence from deception assets and feed findings into detection logic, playbooks, and the broader threat model.
• Integrate deception-triggered alert triage and response into existing SOC operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology management, or a related technical or management field.
• Hands-on experience and working knowledge of AWS.
• Experience designing and deploying internal and external deception programs.
• Strong knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and the cyber kill chain.
• Hands-on experience planning and executing adversarial simulations, including engagement scoping, rules of engagement, offensive tooling, and reporting.
• Ability to build security programs and operational structures from the ground up.
