Forward Deployed Software Engineer (AI)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid workplace with regular office presence and customer-site collaboration

Salary: $135,000–$200,000 per year, plus potential restricted stock units, sign-on bonus, and other incentives

What you will do

• Work directly with federal health and civilian customers to understand complex operational problems and build practical solutions.
• Own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects within small, high-ownership teams.
• Design architectures and build data pipelines, operational workflows, and custom applications.
• Deploy AI agents and cloud-based solutions using hirify.global platforms and AWS infrastructure.
• Advise customer executives and contribute to project strategy and technical decisions.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, Deployment Strategists, and customer stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong engineering background in computer science, mathematics, software engineering, physics, or a related field.
• Strong programming ability in Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with AI agents, data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and frontend frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance or willingness to obtain or upgrade to one.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, logistics, aviation, or readiness analysis.
• Experience with Postgres, Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Groovy, React, Leaflet, d3, AWS EC2, or S3.
