What you will do

• Teach six quarter-length undergraduate courses per year, typically two per term.
• Develop syllabi and bring creativity and breadth of knowledge to core-course classroom design.
• Conduct research in engineering, physics, or a closely related STEM discipline.
• Participate in faculty meetings, guest lectures, and campus events.
• Mentor students interested in STEM and guide their academic development.
• Foster open inquiry, academic freedom, respectful debate, and civil discourse in teaching and research.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in a STEM discipline or closely related field, or a degree conferred by the start date.
• Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching.
• Strong commitment to free inquiry, open debate, and intellectual diversity.
• Comfort with interdisciplinary collaboration and quantitative rigor.
• Ability to work on-site in Austin, Texas.

Nice to have

• Teaching portfolio or other evidence of teaching excellence.
• Published research or a relevant writing sample.
