Principal Systems Engineer

Salary: $167,000–$196,800 USD annually for roles hired in California.

What you will do

• Own product and subsystem requirements and ensure customer needs are fully captured and satisfied.
• Coordinate requirements and subsystem design activities across hardware, software, and firmware teams.
• Develop interface control documentation and manage interfaces between subsystems.
• Lead V-cycle artifacts, system architecture documentation, trade studies, and impact analyses.
• Prove system requirements through analysis and lead toll-gate activities from requirements through launch.
• Identify gaps, prioritize issues, and guide resolution across multiple engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace, or a similar field.
• 8+ years of industry experience spanning the product lifecycle from concept to delivery.
• Experience establishing a technical baseline and working through ambiguity with limited guidance.
• Experience with requirements and product lifecycle management tools such as JAMA, Polarion, or DOORS.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as SparxEA or Capella, plus Python or another object-oriented language.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, or similar version control systems.
