TL;DR
Systems Engineer - General | Systems (Electric Aviation): Developing and validating aircraft, system, and component requirements for electric aviation with an accent on safety analysis, certification, and requirements management. Focus on modeling system behavior, coordinating testing, and demonstrating compliance with aerospace standards including ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-160G, DO-331, and DO-178C.

Location: South Burlington, Vermont, United States; 50% onsite presence required

Salary: $85,000–$160,000 USD per year

What you will do

  • Develop and validate aircraft, system, and component requirements.
  • Generate aircraft- and system-level requirements and manage their validation.
  • Model system behavior for validation activities.
  • Manage requirements and workflows in an Application Lifecycle Management environment.
  • Coordinate and execute testing with systems and test engineering teams.
  • Support safety assessments and demonstrate compliance with customer, regulatory, aircraft, and system-level requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Part 23 or Part 27 aircraft or rotorcraft programs.
  • Experience with requirements development, validation, verification, and safety analysis.
  • Knowledge of ARP4754A, ARP4761, aerospace certification processes, FAA Order 8110.4C, RTCA DO-160G, DO-331, and DO-178C.
  • Experience with Google G-Suite, Slack, and solid modeling tools such as Onshape, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
  • Ability to work onsite in Vermont for at least 50% of the time and collaborate with certification engineers, DERs, systems engineers, and design engineers.

Nice to have

  • Polarion ALM, CATIA, or ANSYS experience.
  • Experience with Mil-HDBK-217, reliability software, LabVIEW, or Python-based test automation.
  • Experience with PTC Windchill, Isograph, or Relyence.
