Business Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Jersey City, NJ; hybrid schedule with at least two days per week on-site

Salary: $90,000–$125,000 per year, negotiable based on experience and skills

What you will do

• Gather and document business and technical requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze messaging flows between routing components, clients, and exchanges.
• Document API mappings, system-entity data models, order-processing logic, and workflow rules.
• Contribute to impact analysis, solution planning, testing, deployment, and project implementation.
• Maintain requirements, workflow diagrams, use cases, and test scenarios.
• Collaborate with business analysts, development, and QA teams to support high-quality delivery.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, trading, or technology.
• Strong understanding of U.S. equities and/or options markets, market structure, order lifecycles, and trading workflows.
• Required knowledge of options and equity order flow, including FIX protocol.
• Experience with software development lifecycles, APIs, and networking concepts such as TCP/IP.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment and communicate with technical and non-technical teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with algorithmic trading and smart order routers.
• Data modeling experience.
