TL;DR
Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Product Launch & Scalability (Aerospace): Developing scalable electric aircraft manufacturing processes with an accent on automation, production modeling, supply chain efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Location: South Burlington, Vermont, United States; onsite manufacturing environment with an 8-hour active shift

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 USD per year

What you will do

  • Model production workflows, identify constraints, and design scalable manufacturing solutions.
  • Develop strategies to improve cycle time, labor efficiency, cost, and production throughput.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives across manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, quality, design, and NPI.
  • Implement advanced tooling, robotics, automation, and digital production systems.
  • Optimize material flow, logistics, kitting, inspection, quality, and testing processes.
  • Evaluate vertical integration and outsourcing options while establishing data-driven KPIs and predictive models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or another engineering discipline with a manufacturing focus.
  • 7+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing, aerospace production, or process optimization.
  • Experience with composites and aerospace-grade metallics, including bonding, drilling, and fastening.
  • Experience with process modeling, simulation, data analysis, production scaling, and automation strategies.
  • Knowledge of supply chain, receiving, kitting, inspection, manufacturing logistics, and manufacturing software.
  • Knowledge of FAA Part 21 production requirements and aerospace quality standards; ability to work onsite and meet the physical requirements of an 8-hour shift and lifting up to 25 lb.

Nice to have

  • Experience in an eVTOL, aerospace, or electric aircraft startup environment.
  • Experience with Industry 4.0, advanced manufacturing, FAA conformity, AS9100, SPC, MSA, and RCA.
  • Familiarity with Catia, Solidworks, Delmia, Minitab, JMP, ERP, or MES systems.
