Customer Success Engineer (Automation Specialist) (Lab Automation): Configuring Automata’s LINQ platform, adapting scientific workflows, and delivering automated solutions across customer hardware and software landscapes with an accent on laboratory automation, Python, and customer-facing technical delivery. Focus on translating complex scientific workflows into technical specifications, building and testing workflows, training customers, and documenting safety and risk requirements.
Location: Frankfurt, Germany; the requirements also specify being located in the London area. Required travel for customer projects.
Rate: Competitive day rate based on experience.

What you will do
- Assess, plan, and implement end-to-end customer solutions by adapting scientific workflows across hardware and software environments.
- Configure the LINQ platform and develop, execute, and test workflows and custom solutions.
- Prepare technical specifications, safety documentation, DFMEA materials, and risk assessments for large-scale systems.
- Train customers on LINQ and custom solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support pre-sales scoping and solution design, then collaborate with product and engineering teams to convert customer requirements into product decisions.
Requirements
- 4+ years of combined experience in life sciences at the bench or in a customer-facing role.
- Experience solving laboratory automation challenges and some Python expertise.
- Ability to understand complex technical and scientific challenges and communicate a practical path forward.
- Experience working with product and engineering teams.
- Located in the London area and able to travel as needed for customer projects.
Nice to have
- Experience developing methods on benchtop laboratory equipment such as liquid handling equipment and plate readers.
- Experience engineering automated solutions, specifying equipment, or creating CAD drawings.
- Experience with enterprise software platforms, instrument or hardware driver development, ELN, LIMS, or other laboratory integrations.
- Experience with project management tools such as Asana or Jira.
- Experience in startup environments.
