Senior Security Design Architect

Location: Hybrid role based in Southlake, TX; Austin, TX; or Orlando, FL

Salary: USD $145,000–$195,000 per year

What you will do

• Conduct secure design reviews, architecture assessments, threat modeling, and security risk evaluations for cloud, on-premises, hybrid, SaaS, AI, and application-based solutions.
• Work with architects, product managers, product owners, engineering teams, technology leaders, cloud teams, and AI teams to define security and non-functional requirements.
• Document systems, trust boundaries, integration points, data flows, dependencies, architectural risks, vulnerabilities, attack paths, misuse scenarios, and control gaps.
• Review, assess, approve, and sign off on projects against security controls, compliance expectations, policies, standards, and industry best practices.
• Develop and maintain security reference architectures, secure design standards, reusable patterns, control frameworks, and secure deployment models.
• Present security findings and recommendations to technical stakeholders and executive leadership while balancing risk, resilience, regulatory obligations, business priorities, and innovation.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience designing, implementing, assessing, and governing enterprise security architectures, controls, and solutions.
• Deep expertise in AI security, CIAM, IAM, cloud security, application security, data protection, security architecture, and risk management.
• Experience with security architecture reviews, threat modeling, security control assessments, and security governance.
• Ability to document security risks, evaluate remediation options, define compensating controls, support risk-based decisions, and develop security requirements and deployment models.
• Strong collaboration, communication, stakeholder management, influencing, and executive presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience securing AI/ML and agentic AI solutions.
• CISSP or CSSLP certification.
• CCSP, CISM, TOGAF, Cloud Security, AI Security, or other information security certifications.
