Principal Security Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: Boston, MA, United States

Base salary: $135,000–$194,000 USD per year, plus a discretionary annual variable target incentive.

What you will do

• Define and lead security architecture across cloud, datacenter, and SaaS platforms.
• Establish security standards, patterns, best practices, and standard configurations across the organization.
• Standardize and strategically select security platforms for identity, secrets management, network security, and infrastructure protection.
• Drive adoption of Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, HashiCorp Vault, Terraform, Palo Alto, zero trust principles, and modern security frameworks.
• Lead complex security initiatives spanning product, infrastructure, and operations teams.
• Resolve critical security incidents, perform root cause analysis, partner with compliance and risk teams, and mentor engineering teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in security engineering and/or architecture.
• Deep expertise in IAM, network security, cloud security, and data protection.
• Strong experience designing security architectures in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, HashiCorp Vault, Terraform, Palo Alto firewalls, and cloud-native security controls.
• Proven leadership of large-scale enterprise security initiatives, including toolchain rationalization and standardization.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills, including engagement at executive levels.
