Sr. Software Engineer, Security

Salary: $140,000–$205,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Design and build automated security tools and self-service DevSecOps guardrails for engineering teams.
• Drive triage and resolution of vulnerabilities across the backend stack, including writing code to patch CVEs.
• Partner with development teams on structural and framework-level security remediation.
• Lead hardening of AWS production environments in alignment with modern security and compliance standards.
• Conduct threat modeling and security architecture reviews for complex systems and new platform features.

Requirements

• 6+ years of dedicated experience in security engineering, application security, or DevSecOps.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization protocols, including OIDC, SAML, and OAuth.
• Expertise securing, auditing, and hardening cloud environments, especially AWS.
• Experience with tactical vulnerability patching and strategic remediation alongside development teams.
• Production-grade programming experience in Python, Java, or Node.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup in San Francisco or another US location covered by the role.
