Associate Principal (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; 4 days in person and Fridays remote

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Drive AI strategic advisory engagements that define company transformation agendas and assess assets during diligence.
• Partner with Principals on active deals, discovery calls, proposals, relationship management, and the selling motion.
• Build durable relationships with executives and investors across client engagements.
• Translate technical AI concepts into clear business language for executives and deal teams.
• Contribute to partnership development, thought leadership, internal tooling, and process improvement.

Requirements

• High ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to drive tight engagement windows independently.
• Strong analytical ability, learning agility, and judgment when evaluating unfamiliar industries.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong relationship-building and client-facing skills.
• Working knowledge of generative AI capabilities and limitations; engineering experience is not required.
• Resourcefulness, low ego, and the ability to operate as both a strategist and a doer.

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to multiple AI strategic advisory engagements and progressing toward execution leadership.
• Experience conducting executive interviews and creating engagement deliverables.
• Experience participating in sales or account conversations and learning how advisory work is scoped, priced, and positioned.
• Experience improving processes, tooling, or templates.
