Staff Backend Engineer (AI)

hirify.global is an AI-native startup building an autonomous AI Production Engineer to investigate and resolve complex system issues, backed by top-tier investors and industry leaders.

What you will do

• Build simulation environments for training and evaluating AI agents on realistic SRE tasks.
• Design and scale backend services and APIs for high-concurrency scenario generation and scoring.
• Own the architecture and implementation of large subsystems from design through evolution.
• Collaborate with Research Scientists to translate complex SRE scenarios into reproducible environments.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance across distributed system layers.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience operating at a Staff or equivalent technical leadership level.
• Strong backend engineering background with experience deploying scalable services in high-concurrency environments.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS) and Kubernetes.
• Solid grasp of databases and messaging systems for cloud-native applications.
• Bias for action and ability to iterate quickly on system architecture.

Nice to have

• Prior SRE, on-call, or incident response experience.
• Familiarity with observability and developer-facing tool internals.
