Security Operations Engineer (Zero Trust)

Location: Primarily in-office at the Santa Clara, CA or Lehi, UT office

Annual base salary: $170,000–$255,000 USD, with possible incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Drive risk-based vulnerability and asset lifecycle management across cloud, container, and endpoint environments using exploitability-led prioritization and asset intelligence.
• Operate and improve Zscaler ZIA/ZPA, including SSL/TLS inspection strategies and Zero Trust policy enforcement.
• Architect secrets detection and automated remediation across CI/CD pipelines in partnership with DevOps.
• Build Splunk detection queries, deploy deception strategies aligned with MITRE ATT&CK, and automate triage through Python or SOAR workflows.
• Run adversary simulations and controls validation, including Atomic Red Team exercises, and provide risk-rated findings.
• Translate technical remediation results into executive-facing impact reports and business-relevant risk assessments.

Requirements

• Deep experience in enterprise security operations and vulnerability management, including asset discovery and secrets detection tools such as runZero, TruffleHog, or GitLeaks.
• Technical expertise with Zscaler ZIA/ZPA, SSL inspection design, policy tuning, and security for AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proficiency in Splunk detection engineering and scripting with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Experience integrating secrets scanning and automated remediation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience with threat emulation and deception technologies mapped to MITRE ATT&CK.
• Ability to work from the Santa Clara, CA or Lehi, UT office in accordance with company policies.
