Salary: $35.00–$45.00 per hour

What you will do
- Assemble, integrate, and test spacecraft mechanisms, including hinges, latches, deployment systems, actuators, and release mechanisms.
- Follow engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, work instructions, assembly procedures, and specifications for flight and development hardware.
- Perform mechanical inspections, torque verification, alignment checks, fit checks, and functional or environmental testing.
- Troubleshoot mechanisms and support rework, repairs, process improvements, and root-cause investigations.
- Document build steps, nonconformances, and test results in manufacturing and quality systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and configuration control of flight hardware while collaborating with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Technical background in mechanical systems, aerospace manufacturing, or a related field through trade school, military service, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on precision mechanical assembly experience.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, assembly procedures, and specifications.
- Proficiency with hand tools, torque tools, and measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and torque wrenches.
- Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an applicable U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR requirements.
Nice to have
- 8+ years of experience with mechanisms or components in aerospace, spacecraft, satellite, launch vehicle, or defense manufacturing.
- Familiarity with cleanroom or controlled assembly environments.
- 4+ years of hands-on mechanism testing, including functional, deployment, or life-cycle testing.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, or shifts when needed for program milestones.
