Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS)

Salary: $132,000–$175,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and maintain scalable AWS cloud infrastructure using DevOps best practices.
• Automate and orchestrate cloud resources with Terraform and Argo CD.
• Develop and deploy serverless and containerized applications using Lambda, ECS, and ECR.
• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud services with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and related observability tools.
• Enhance AWS Airflow orchestration by upgrading the platform, improving logs and errors, and integrating configurable Slack alerts through Apprise.
• Provide customer support through bi-weekly office hours, resolve codebase and AWS infrastructure issues, and document utilities and processes in Confluence.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience as a platform engineer, cloud engineer, or in a similar role.
• Strong production experience with AWS architecture, cloud networking, security, VPCs, Security Groups, NACLs, and IAM.
• Proficiency in Terraform, Argo CD, Lambda, ECS, ECR, CloudWatch, CI/CD, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Expertise in Python and Git, with production-quality coding experience; SQL experience is also required.
• Experience building and maintaining distributed platforms for high-volume data and data science use cases.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, SageMaker, AWS data services, Jira, Confluence, Scrum, or documentation tools.
• Experience leading engineers, planning user stories, and communicating with technical and non-technical clients.
