Manager, Project Quality (Automotive)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Requires 4–5 days per week in the office, regular in-person meetings and events, and occasional travel.

Salary: $120,000–$145,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Execute project quality objectives, targets, KPIs, maturity milestones, and governance processes for assigned vehicle programs.
• Define and continuously improve quality processes in partnership with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Quality functions.
• Manage preventive quality plans, maturity management, quality gates, escalations, and deviation resolution from early development through end-of-production.
• Coordinate final whole-vehicle approval for serial production readiness.
• Lead interdisciplinary task forces addressing critical program risks, systemic issues, and launch-blocking concerns.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project quality professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Vehicle Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of automotive engineering or product quality experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles within an OEM or Tier 1 environment.
• Deep understanding of vehicle development and manufacturing across body, electrical, chassis, propulsion, battery systems, infotainment, and connectivity.
• Strong vehicle assessment skills and a holistic understanding of complete vehicle behavior.
• Experience leading complex automotive programs and working across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and product teams.
• Ability to work in the Charlotte office 4–5 days per week and travel occasionally for company events.

Nice to have

• ASQ certification.
• Experience with AIAG or VDA methodologies.
• Experience establishing or scaling quality systems in a new or rapidly evolving organization.
