Director, Platform Architect Principal - Investment Operations, Sales & Distribution (Fintech)

Location: Onsite in Austin, Texas, United States

Salary: USD $210,000–$260,000 per year, plus bonus or incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Define target-state architecture, technology strategy, and multi-year roadmaps for investment operations and sales and distribution platforms.
• Lead architecture governance, design reviews, technology assessments, modernization initiatives, and platform operating model transformation.
• Design scalable platform solutions using APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, cloud-native technologies, and distributed systems.
• Lead architecture for investment operations, fund administration, middle-office and accounting workflows, regulatory reporting, alternative investments, CRM, and distribution platforms.
• Design and deploy applications on GCP and PCF, while establishing resilient infrastructure, observability, automation, and data platform patterns.
• Partner with business, product, engineering, data, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and SRE leaders; communicate decisions and mentor engineers and architects.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture.
• Significant experience in asset management operations and sales and marketing technology, including vendor platforms, SaaS ecosystems, package implementations, and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Strong proficiency in Java with Spring Boot/Spring Cloud, .NET/C#, or Python.
• Deep expertise in microservices, event-driven architectures, API design, distributed systems, and large-scale platform modernization.
• Strong cloud architecture experience with GCP or AWS, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with data architecture, data engineering patterns, analytics platforms, Snowflake, SQL Server, Salesforce integrations, DevOps toolchains, and AI/ML architecture governance.
