Principal Product Manager, Software (Identity, Security and Compliance)

Location: Hybrid in Boston or Seattle, United States; applicants must live within commuting distance and work in the office at least 3 days per week.

Base salary: $173,000–$216,300 per year, depending on geographic location, qualifications, and experience. Bonus, equity, and benefits are not included.

What you will do

• Own the product strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for global identity management, platform security, and regulatory compliance.
• Define authentication, authorization, identity profiles, roles, data privacy, and related platform capabilities.
• Translate complex regulatory and security requirements into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and executable plans.
• Partner with engineering, legal, privacy, UX, customer support, and senior stakeholders to make technical and policy trade-offs.
• Monitor global privacy, security, and digital identity regulations and proactively address product risks.
• Mentor product managers, improve product practices, and use AI-assisted workflows for research, specifications, prototyping, analysis, and decision-making.

Requirements

• 7+ years of product management experience, including 3–5 years focused on software products related to global identity, security, or regulatory compliance.
• Principal-level experience owning complex, technical, platform-level, or systems-oriented products in consumer software or connected hardware.
• Deep expertise in identity management, cybersecurity practices, and global data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Technical fluency in software architecture, APIs, cloud security, cryptography, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical ability, communication, consensus-building, and comfort working with ambiguity and lean resources.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with consumer electronics, smart home, or IoT products.
• Familiarity with industry security certifications.
• Experience building AI-assisted tooling or workflows for product or engineering organizations.
• Experience working with global teams and regional regulatory requirements.
