TL;DR
Cable & Harness Technician (Weekday Shift) (Aerospace): Fabricating, testing, troubleshooting, potting, and repairing flight harnesses and avionics systems for spacecraft with an accent on precision assembly, quality control, and harness checkout. Focus on soldering, crimping, CIRRIS testing, microscope inspections, interpreting schematics, and complying with aerospace quality and export-control requirements.

Location: Irvine, California, United States; onsite weekday shift, Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM. Applicants must be U.S. persons or lawful permanent residents, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. government export authorizations.

Salary: $28–$37 per hour.

What you will do

  • Fabricate spacecraft flight harnesses using soldering, crimping, stripping, and essential harness tools.
  • Test and troubleshoot harnesses and avionics systems using test equipment, including CIRRIS systems.
  • Apply epoxy and potting materials to connectors.
  • Perform microscope-based inspections and quality assurance checkouts of flight harness builds.
  • Read wire harness schematics, assembly drawings, bills of materials, product documentation, and work instructions.
  • Run reports, maintain accurate records, and track testing and production results.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 2–4 years of harness fabrication experience.
  • Experience operating test equipment for harness checkouts and working with epoxy and potted connectors.
  • J-STD-001 certification; IPC-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or NASA STD 8739.4 certification is preferred.
  • Understanding of electronic components, electronics manufacturing, production processes, harnessing tools, and quality control.
  • Excellent visual acuity and the ability to accurately distinguish a wide range of colors for detailed inspections.
  • U.S. person or lawful permanent resident status, or eligibility for required export authorizations; a current or obtainable U.S. national security clearance may also be required.
