Director, Platform Architect Principal - Wealth Management

Location: Onsite in Austin, Texas, United States

Salary: $210,000–$260,000 per year, plus bonus or incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Define target architecture, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps for wealth management platforms.
• Design secure, scalable integrations across wealth applications, custodians, market data providers, enterprise services, fintech platforms, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Drive modernization through cloud adoption, APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, containerization, and selective AI/ML implementation.
• Partner with business leaders, product teams, architects, engineers, and vendors to translate business capabilities into interoperable technical solutions.
• Lead architecture decisions throughout the software delivery lifecycle and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Ensure compliance with financial services regulations, cybersecurity standards, AI governance, and data privacy requirements.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a technical architect for large-scale enterprise wealth management platforms.
• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, preferably with Java, including 5+ years in investment services or wealth management.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, middleware, microservices, event-driven systems, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience designing cloud-native solutions; Google Cloud Platform is strongly preferred.
• Experience with cloud transformation, digital modernization, production operations, SRE principles, observability, and reliability engineering.
• Knowledge of financial-services regulations, data governance, cybersecurity, responsible AI, and enterprise security controls.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, GKE, API management, Apigee, Oracle, Cloud SQL PostgreSQL, Vertex AI, BigQuery, and GitHub.
• Experience with Angular, modern front-end architecture, enterprise architecture practices, and Agile development.
• Experience integrating security, IAM, financial systems, analytics, and observability platforms.
