Electrical Engineering Intern (Summer 2027) (AI Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Assist with the rapid design, development, and testing of reliable electronics and PCBs.
• Support circuit modeling and simulation to analyze performance and validate designs.
• Contribute to schematics, component selection, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, and electrical documentation.
• Use laboratory equipment, custom instrumentation, and test setups for hands-on debugging.
• Collaborate with mechanical and software teams on product development, integration, and testing.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering at an ABET-accredited university or college.
• Hands-on electrical engineering experience from internships, engineering clubs, or similar activities.
• Experience may include FSAE, Baja SAE, solar car, rocket, robotics, or comparable engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and a first-principles approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work on-site at the Hawthorne facility in the Los Angeles area.

Nice to have

• Master's or PhD in electrical engineering.
• Familiarity with industrial automation, robotics, spacecraft avionics, or high-performance electromechanical systems.
• Experience with sensors, embedded microcontroller design and firmware, or FPGA hardware and software.
• Experience with high-speed data acquisition, motion systems, scanning systems, or camera- and telemetry-based control systems.
• Strong cross-disciplinary communication, ownership, resilience, and hands-on problem-solving skills.
